Drive-By Truckers will close the year with a New Year’s Eve performance at New York’s Terminal 5. The performance will feature several guests, including the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, David Hood, Kelly Hogan and a horn section. While in New York, the group will prepare for its T5 show with a warm-up gig at Brooklyn, NY’s considerably smaller Brooklyn Bowl on December 30. The announcement comes shortly after the band confirmed its new studio album, Go-Go Boots.
In other news, the band has confirmed its annual Athens Homecoming/Nuci’s Space Benefit Weekend at the 40 Watt. The band will play the famed Athens, GA-based club from January 13-15. The first show of the run has been dubbed the Go-Go Boots World Premiere and will feature special guests the 2nd Sons. The second night of the run will feature Don Chambers and Goat and Henry Barbe, while the third night of the run will feature David Barbe And The Quick Hooks and The Camp Amped Band (featuring Musicians from Nuci’s Space’s Camp Amped Program). The final night of the Homecoming Run will also boast an auction and other benefit activities for Nuci’s Space.
