Soulive will host its second annual series of Bowlive concerts at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl this March. Bowlive 2011 will take place from March 1-5 and 8-12. Like this year’s Bowlive, each show will feature different special guests.

Last night, the band performed a stealth show at the venue during The Royal Family Holiday Rage. In honor of the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s passing, the group played a set of music drawn from its Beatles album, Rubber Soulive.

The Royal Family Holiday Rage was hosted by Nigel Hall, who opened the night with a set of his new material. The show closed with a surprise set by Lettuce (drummer Adam Deitch returned from a seven week tour with Pretty Lights hours before showtime). Guitarist Ian Neville filled in for Adam Smirnoff—who is on the road with Robert Randolph—throughout Lettuce’s set.
