Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson will curare the February musical offerings at New York’s The Stone. The couple has put together an impressive month of music, including intimate performances by Arcade Fire/Sway Machinery saxophonist Colin Stetson (2/3), singer/songwriter Jesse Harris (2/8), Sean Lennon (2/9), Bill Laswell (2/11), John Zorn (2/12), Marc Ribot (2/17) and Rob Wasserman Group (2/18). The month’s curators will take the stage together at the venue on February 15 during a show that is billed as Valentine’s Day DUO: Lou Reed (guitars) Laurie Anderson (violin) Arone Dyer (Buke and voice) Aron Sanchez (Gass and drum).

In addition, every Sunday in February Laurie Anderson and Anna Brenner will host an open house at The Sone. The club describes the series as: “From the practical to the theoretical, Stone Open House will be a place to hang out, drink great coffee, read, listen to unusual presentations and invent alternative ways to live and work. Part think tank, part party, SOH will host a series of presentations that cover a wide range of topics- from the history of boilers to teaching music to dogs. In cooperation with Housing Works Book store, SOH will present a library of must-read books for people interested in expanding in unpredictable ways.”
