As we reported earlier in the week, STS9 enlivened its New Year’s Eve run at the Fillmore with a DJ set on the 30th by guitarist Hunter Brown and bassist David Murphy. The next evening saw the group perform a new cover at midnight, as bolstered by Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli on saxophone, the band covered Stevie Wonder’s “Uptight (Everything’s Alright).” This wasn’t the only debut of the evening as the group also delivered its first live take on “Firewall” with Lalli, after “Uptight.” In addition, STS9 closed out its initial set of the night with the debut performance of its new song “When The Dust Settles.” On January 1 it was off to Aspen where STS9 premiered some new material at the Belly Up. In this case after an initial encore consisting of “Monkey Music” and “Kaya” the group returned offering the first-ever “EHM Remix,” which segued into “UN? Remix.”

The group will return to the stage later this month at the Mayan Holidaze event in Mexico.
