John Popper and Blues Traveler are currently managed by C3 Management, the same group that runs both the Austin City Limits Festival and Lollapolooza. For a few years now rumors have swelled that H.O.R.D.E. might be resuscitated as a one off-festival if not a touring event. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of H.O.R.D.E. and it seems like a fitting occasion for such a return. Col. Bruce Hampton, who toured with H.O.R.D.E. from the get go in 1992 with Aquarium Rescue Unit (along with Traveler, Phish, Widespread Panic and Spin Doctors), agrees. In an interview with the NOLA Defender, he suggests it is a possibility, noting that “There might be another H.O.R.D.E festival in 2012.” Stay tuned (plus unlike George Lucas, Hampton believes we’ll all be here in 2012 so one has to appreciate his positive perspective).

In the interim, check out Col Bruce Hampton & The Quark Alliance in Jackson, MS tonight and in New Orleans on Saturday. Also, here’s a nod to Scott Bernstein over at Hidden Track, who noted the NOLA Defender piece earlier, which likely led someone pass it our way.
