Furthur Covers Particle

Particle’s Steve Molitz has performed with Phil Lesh & Friends a number of time over the past few years. Last night at the Best Buy Theater in New York, NY, the keyboard player—who recently moved to New York from LA—stepped out with Lesh’s current touring collective. Molitz appeared at the close of the second set to lead the band through the Particle original “Elevator” and then remained for the closing “In the Midnight Hour.” Earlier in the night, Furthur continued its run through the Beatles Abbey Road album, by offering its version of “Here Comes the Sun.”

Furthur returns to the Best Buy Theater tonight.

Here is the setlist as it appears in our Box Scores section

Hellz yea this was aw3esome I would love to see Molitz collaborate for a few shows like the Hornsby/welnick era that would be fantabulous. I am not a huge fan of live techno but when I first heard particle in the earkly 2000’s I knew this band would deliver. Didnt get to see them until last yeasr at the wanee and t5hey blew the place up, big time, which was surprsing to hear and see a lot of older heads commenting about how funky they were. molitz is a genious and I would klove to check this collaboration sometime

Man, Particle had the world at their finger tips and then just fell off the face of the planet. I’ve always wondered why.

Molitz is awesome. Saw him with Robbie Krieger at Bella Vida fest last year, it was sweet.
