Hot Buttered Rum has only performed a limited number of shows in 2011 but the band will kick off a series of West Coast dates tomorrow, April 12. Danny Barnes will open several of these shows and likely collaborate with the band along the way. Hot Buttered Rum recently hosted its Spring Meltdown at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on April 2. Wavy Gravy hosted the night and Ten Mile Tide opened the show.

Several guests sat in throughout the night, including vocalist Kate Gaffney and Ten Mile Tide guitarist Justin Munning. ALO guitarist Dan Lebowitz also emerged for a stretch of the band’s second set that included “Ramblin’ Girl,” “Be Kind Boys,” U2’s “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “Like The French” (a song co-written by ALO’s Dave Brogan) and Willie Nelson’s “Stay All Night.” In addition The Waybacks’ James Nash played mandolin on “Missoula To Miami” as well as guitar on “Summertime Gal,” Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Stay All Night.”
