Grace Potter & The Nocturnals is the latest group to anchor its own festival. The band’s Grand Point North Festival is set for Burlington’s Waterfront Park on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14. The group will perform both nights and will welcome such acts as: Taj Mahal Trio, Fitz & The Tantrums, The Wood Brothers, Anais Mitchell & Hadestown Orchestra, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Hoots & Hellmouth and Chamberlin.

As for the name, Potter explains, “When it came time to think of a name for the weekend celebration, I came up with ‘Grand Point North’ because that’s what it feels like. Having traveled the country far and wide with my band, no matter where we’ve been, coming home to Vermont always feels like an ascent; a journey north that grounds us and rejuvenates us. We want the fans to feel the same way. We’re bringing in a killer gathering of music, from national acts to top shelf local musicians. This is a festival for everyone, from families and revelers to the hardcore music fan. Anyone who makes the pilgrimage up to Vermont will find out just how special this place is. It’s a journey well worth taking.”

Tickets for the event are now on sale.
