While many of Jazz Fest’s marquee collaborations took place at New Orleans’ various clubs, several notable sit-ins took place at the Jazz & Heritage Festival’s Fairgrounds. As he discusses in his recent site interview, Marco Benevento made his Fairgrounds debut as a special guest of Bonerama. The keyboardist sat in throughout the band’s entire set, which included “Hard Times,” “MR GO,” “What You See,” “Funky Brown Shorts,” “I Don’t Wanna Play Guitar,” “Close The Door,” “Turtle Walk,” “Something You Got,” “War Pigs” and “Star Spangled Banner.” Drummer Alvin Ford—who has been guesting with the group as of late—also joined the band during its performance.
