Jeff Beck Welcomes Trombone Shorty, Michael Franti Shares Stage with Amanda Shaw In NOLA

Trombone Shorty with Jeff Beck this past October

Guitar god Jeff Beck has championed New Orleans-based musician Trombone Shorty in the press as of late and even hired the rising star as an opening act. While performing at the Fairgrounds during Jazz Fest, Beck also invited Shorty out for a cover of “Sly and the Family Stone’s “I Want to Take You Higher.” Meanwhile, Michael Franti & Spearhead collaborated with one of its own opening acts by bringing out Amanda Shaw for a cover of Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker.”
