Paul Simon headlined New York’s intimate Webster Hall last night. During his second encore, Simon invited out another New York luminary, Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, for both the Heads’ “Road to Nowhere” and the Graceland hit “You Can Call Me Al.” Byrne performed with Simon at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2008 for a night dubbed Under African Skies. Simon and Byrne are often credited with helping introduce African music to Western audiences in the ’80s.
