On June 19, the Bang on a Can Marathon will kick off New York City’s summer-long River To River Festival. The annual performance features 13 hours of free music from over 150 musicians and composers from various genres. Musical performers include Bang on a Can All-Stars, Asphalt Orchestra (performing music by STEW/Heidi Rodewald and Yoko Ono as well as David Byrne/Annie Clark, Goran Bregovic, Björk, Frank Zappa and more), Philip Glass, Glenn Branca, Sun Ra Arkestra and many, many more.

The River to River Festival was founded in 2002 in an effort to revitalize Lower Manhattan following the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. It has since grown into one of the most diverse musical gatherings in the world. The Marathon will kick off the festival at 11am on June 19 and will run all the way until midnight at World Financial Center Winter Garden (220 Vesey Street, NYC).
