Blues Traveler headlined its annual night at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 4. Both Toad the Wet Sprocket and Matisyahu opened the Red Rocks show, which has been a Blues Traveler staple since 1991. Blues Traveler kicked off its two-set Independence Day performance with the “Star Spangled Banner” and invited out Matisyahu for a cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry” near the end of its first set.

A few days before the show, Blues Traveler announced that it would celebrate the 20th anniversary of Travelers & Thieves by performing the album in its entirety during the show. During setbreak, the group showed a clip from its Travelers & Thieves promotional performance of “All in the Groove” on Dennis Miller’s late night show. The band then returned to the stage and ran through the album in its entirety as its second set with the exception of “Mountain Cry.” That song was the group’s lone encore. Up next for Blues Traveler is a gig at Palisade, CO’s Grande River Vineyards tomorrow.
