A previous Blasky/UM jam
Umphrey’s McGee headlined Cincinnati, OH’s Moonlite Gardens last night. Like many Umphrey’s McGee shows in Cincinnati, some members of ‘90s jam/funk/jazz group Ray’s Music Exchange attended the show. During the group’s set, Ray’s Music Exchange trumpeter Mike “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou sat in on “Let ‘em In.” At the start of Umphrey’s McGee’s second set, Ray’s Music Exchange bassist Nick Blasky emerged for a version of “Phil’s Farm.” Though Ray’s Music Exchange does not perform regularly, the group played a reunion show last year. Both Mad Dog and Blasky have also sat in with Umphrey’s McGee numerous times over the years. UM will perform at Utica, NY’s Saranac Brewery this Wednesday.
