For the first time ever Weezer and The Flaming Lips will not only play a show together, but will literally share the stage. On Thursday July 28 at the PNC Bank Arts Center and Friday July 29 at Jones Beach Theatre, Weezer and The Flaming Lips will perform a show where the two bands will switch off playing songs for the length of a set. Originally The Flaming Lips were set to close both shows due to their stage production but this will allow the bands to truly co-headline.

“The Flaming Lips and Weezer are playing a show together…where they are actually playing together,” Wayne Coyne, lead singer and guitarist of the Flaming Lips says. “I asked Wayne if he has an extra bubble I could ride in,” quipped Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo in a statement. Brooklyn-based indie band Yeasayer will open each show.
