Some Panic from this past February

Widespread Panic made their final Bay Area appearances on their 25th anniversary tour this past weekend. The shows were something of hometown appearances for bassist Dave Schools, who recently relocated to Northern California from the Southeast. Both shows took place at Oakland, CA’s Fox Theater and featured some notable cover bust outs. On Friday night, the band covered John Lennon’s “Crippled Inside” for the first time since July 2, 2008, and on Saturday night Panic revived the Grateful Dead’s Workingman’s Dead classic “Easy Wind” after shelving the song on September 1, 1987. Widespread Panic recorded “Crippled Inside” for a John Lennon tribute disc and played the song live a few times in 2007 and 2008.

Panic performed a number of early covers during their 25th anniversary shows in Georgia this past February. Tonight the band performs in Reno, NV.
