John Scofield regularly jumps between both bands and genres these days. But this fall Sco will take several noted players from the jamband scene to Europe for a series of dates. The group—which will likely perform some of the funkier material from the guitarist’s catalog—will feature Royal Family mainstay Nigel Hall on piano and vocals, Andy Hess on bass and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band’s Terence Higgins on drums. Higgins and Hall are currently on the road together as part of Warren Haynes Band while Hess is a former member of Gov’t Mule. The quartet will take stops in Torino, Italy (9/18), Milano, Italy (9/20), Porto, Portugal (9/21), Istanbul, Turkey (9/23-24), Dortmund, Germany (9/25), Amsterdam, The Netherlands (9/28), Eindhoven, The Netherlands (9/29), Salzburg, Austria (9/30), Vienna, Austria (10/1), Warsaw, Poland (10/6), Montpeller, France (10/7) and La Rochelle, France (10/8). Venues for each city will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Scofield will release an album of “gentle” song, A Moment’s Peace, with a different backing band on September 27.
