The Heavy Pets will release their next studio album, Swim Out Past The Sun, on October 22. The follow-up to The Heavy Pets’ 2010 self-titled album, Swim Out Past The Sun features David Grisman on three tracks. As the band explains, “the album offers a vastly different perspective on the ever-evolving quintet, one in which the band known for their incendiary jams drops their electric axes to focus on the acoustic side of things.” Swim Out Past The Sun was produced and recorded by Scott Mathews and engineered by Tom Luekens in Mill Valley, CA and mastered by Vlado Meller. It is the band’s second effort with 102° Records.

To celebrate this release, the Pets will perform a series of “pre-release parties,” beginning August 26 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. The album will only be available at these THP shows until the band’s official October 22 release party at The Stage in Miami. As an added bonus, a limited number of fans purchasing a “pre-release” copy of the album will also get a free signed poster by the band.
