Drive-By Trucker’s will close 2011 in the nation’s capital. The southern rock band will headline Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club from December 29-31. Each night will feature a different opening act, and New Year’s Eve will boast an influential special guest. Fellow southern-inspired rockers Lucero will open for the Truckers on December 29 while J Roddy Walston & the Business will support the band on December 30. On December 31, rising roots-rockers Alabama Shakes—who some critics expect to make a major splash in 2012—will support while Booker T. Jones will sit in with the Truckers’ during their set. The members of Drive-By Truckers backed Booker T. on his 2009 album Potato Hole.
