The Flaming Lips celebrated Halloween a night early by dressing in costume and making a stealth appearance at a house party in Parkersburg, WV. The always festive band played a three-song set for a fan who simply asked the band to play her house via Twitter. The short set consisted of Dream Syndicate’s “Halloween,” Black Sabbath’s “Black Sabbath” and Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.” A larger video of the performance is now streaming on Relix.com.

In other news, The Flaming Lips released a 24-hour song today called “7 Skies H3.” The song is part of a series of experimental recordings that includes a collaboration with Neon Indian and a six-hour song.
