The members of ALO regrouped last week for a five-show tour dubbed the Haunted Carnival of Traveling Freaks & Frights. Each night on the run featured a different theme, as well as some special surprises: October 27 (“Voodoo”), October 28 (“Super-Human”), October 29 (“Animals”), October 30 (“Magic”) and October 31 (“Haunted”). ALO also offered a bonus afternoon show on Saturday that opened with the old school ALO original “Rotting Pumpkin” and featured the deep cut “Camilla the Golden Worm.”

Friday night’s performance at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall also featured some notable asterisks, including Tea Leaf Green’s Josh Clark sitting in on guitar for “Lady Loop” and TLG bassist Reed Mathis supplying guest vocals for The Flaming Lips’ “Waiting for Superman.” During the show, ALO bassist Steve Adams debuted his new original “Dominoes.” Clark returned a few nights later to guest with the group on “Spell” in Petaluma, CA.

In addition, ALO has confirmed its annual Tour D’Amour. The sixth annual outing will take ALO through California, coming to a close at San Francisco’s Fillmore on February 25. ALO recently spent time in the studio working on its next album.
