Gregg Allman Joins Zac Brown, Grace Potter Wins at CMA

Gregg Allman joined Zac Brown Band last night at the 45th annual Country Music Awards. The nationally televised event took place at Nashville, TN’s Bridgestone Arena. Early in the program, Allman made a surprise appearance with Zac Brown Band on a cover of “Georgia On My Mind.” Allman played keyboards and sang a few lines on the official Georgia state song. Allman and Brown have a direct connection via Zac Brown Band drummer Chris Fryar, a member of Oteil & the Peacemakers.

In other news, Grace Potter and Kenny Chesney performed their hit single “You and Tequila” at the award show. The duo also won a CMA in the music video category for the country song.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but to my knowledge when Grace Potter and Kenny Chesney played “You and Tequila” at the CMA awards, Grace Potter was not introduced, and I found that rather offensive. Just sayin…..

She was announced. They said Kenny Chesney, playing with Grace Potter and then went on about Chesney’s accolades and what not. I headr ya though, it was very quick and should have been a bit more prominent.
