Jam Cruise 10 has made two announcements regarding personnel. First up is the news that lighting designer Chris Kuroda will be on board. Not only will he work behind the board but he will join Umphrey’s McGee LD Jeff Waful for a workshop entitled “Get Lit Up.”

However Kyle Hollingsworth will not participate. As he explains, “Jam Cruisers, due to unforeseen circumstances, I will be unable to attend Jam Cruise this year. I apologize for my absence and I’m saddened to miss one of my favorite events of the year. Have a great time on the boat and I hope to see you all again soon.” Everyone Orchestra conductor Matt Butler will replace Hollingsworth as Jam Room conductor on night one.

Chris Karuda appeared at Warren’s Christmas Jam a few years ago. I figured that meant he would do one of the special sets and that would be it. That maniacal genius did the lights for the ENTIRE show (8-9 hours). I talked to him after it was all over and he couldn’t have been any cooler. Classy guy and best in the business.
