Hear The Doors’ Newly Discovered Song "She Smells So Nice"

As we reported on Friday, The Doors debuted their newly discovered track today. Titled “She Smells So Nice,” the song captures the original band consisting of organist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, drummer John Densmore and late singer Jim Morrison on a high-energy bluesy original that was recently discovered by the album’s co-producer Bruce Botnick while reviewing the L.A. Woman session tapes.

While the song is billed as the band’s “first new, unreleased recording in 40 years,” the surviving members of The Doors actually released “Orange County Suite” in 1997. For that song, the members of The Doors played over a Morrison spoken word recording to create the first new Doors song since the ’70s.

You can hear “She Smells So Nice” below.

Sometimes it is best to leave well enough alone…Anybody seen the new band though? I hear it is good and had tickets to a Boston show but they postponed and I missed it…

There are reasons songs like these are left off albums. Interesting yet Horrible none the less Jim was really slipping into the “Big Sleep” Sounds like he has lost his composure to stay in tune with the music.

the reunion show they did with Ian Astbury of the Cult on vocals was actually pretty badass I would go to that again

I’m a diehard Morrison fan, always will be! But I gotta agree with Jammer
Jim sounds like He’s headed down south TOO BAD

Man, this is pretty good. It’s by far better then the crap music being made today! Whether Jim was “slipping” or not, he is the Lizard King. Show some respect!

This is just a poor example of The Doors previous work. I believe they are trying to capitalize on Jims demise as a return to the music genre. No way..let history show their expertise..This was left asleep for a reason..just one more opinion.

Great group/band. Bad vocals on this song. Drugs kill.

some people will just never understand the blues, great tune and the grunge adds character, be appreciative for this rarity
