Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird will release his twelfth album Break It Yourself on March 6 through Mom + Pop. The album was recorded in Bird’s barn by the banks of the Mississippi River in Western Illinois, and was also produced by the former Squirrel Nut Zippers collaborator. Bird will celebrate the release of his album with a North American tour, with the first date set for March 15 in Dallas, TX.

All tickets purchased for the tour will come bundled with a “unique musical package” that will include a redemption code to download Break It Yourself when it is released to the public. In addition, ticket holders will also receive a download of Fake Conversations, a live EP that was recorded on Bird’s fall 2011 tour, as well as a live EP that will be recorded during the spring 2012 tour. American fans who don’t live near the venues that Bird will be traveling to will be able to buy the album and live EP package as part of a preorder through Bird’s official site. There will also be a deluxe edition vinyl package, with more details to come in the near future. A new video previewing the album can be seen at Bird’s website.
