Wood Brothers guitarist Oliver Wood has produced the latest release from Carsie Blanton, Idiot Heart. The album is described as a Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter’s “take on a “Sixties rock record, showcasing her myriad influences and interests, blending jazz, blues, and pop with bucolic folk rock arrangements and her own inimitable persona.” Blanton funded the project by raising $30,000 from fans, and she now plans to use Quidplayer to let fans purchase the record through a “pay what you like” campaign. Blanton has a number of CD release parties scheduled for this winter, beginning with a gig at Washington, DC’s Black Cat on January 26.
