Jack White to Release Solo Debut

Around the time The White Stripes parted ways, Jack White declared that he will never put together another band and plans to record as a solo artist. The first full-length release under White’s name, Blunderbuss will arrive on April 24 via the guitarist’s own Third Man Records. In a statement White says, “[This is] an album I couldn’t have released until now. I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.” The album’s single, “Love Interruption,” “is now streaming below.

A great band – their debut LP is a leovly album from start to end, well worth a listen if you haven’t already. The vinyl copy is cheap as well for a new album, only £9 delivered off Amazon.Kip at least seems very down to earth, just enjoying the times they are having. Good for them./gushing praise

I went to the first night of their U.S. tour at the Black Cat and Friendly Fires blew me away. Friendly Fires have a lot of stage pncseree, and their energy came through loud and clear to the audience.White Lies on the other hand, the headliners, were much less impressive. Friendly Fires did a great job at getting the crowd buzzed, and then White Lies came on, and the mood was over. Maybe they were having a bad night, but I regret to say we didn’t stay for their whole set. We missed The Soft Pack, so no thoughts there!
