The Mothers Hips will return to San Francisco’s The Independent on June 15. When they announced the two-set show, the California-bred group revealed that they would perform an album in its entirety during their first set. The group has now confirmed that they will perform their debut Back to the Grotto in its entirety for the first time as their special album set.

The members of The Mother Hips started recording Back to the Grotto during the summer of 1992 and released the disc in early 1993. Hips frontman Tim Bluhm also performed The Band’s self-titled 1969 album and the Grateful Dead’s Workingman’s Dead in their entity alongside Phil Lesh last night.
