A clip of Friday’s Ramble

Phil Lesh returned to San Rafael, CA’s Terrapin Crossroads last night for another Ramble. Like his other weekend Rambles, Lesh’s band last night featured Chris Robinson (vocals/guitar), Tim Bluhm (vocals/guitar), Nicki Bluhm (vocals), RatDog’s Mark Karan (vocals/guitar), Ryan Adams & the Cardinals’ Jon Graboff (pedal steel), Grahame Lesh (vocals/guitar), Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s Adam MacDougall (keyboards) and Railroad Earth’s John Sherkhan (mandolin). While both Friday and Saturday’s Rambles mixed a unique selection of covers with originals and classic songs associated with the Grateful Dead repertoire, last night’s show felt closer to a traditional Dead-related performance. But the Ramble band did bust into a take on Gillian Welch’s “Look at Miss Ohio” during their second set. The 2003 Soul Journey classic was sung by Nicki Bluhm.

The ensemble also nodded to Levon Helm with another take on The Band’s “The Weight,” with Robinson, Karan, Nicki Bluhm and Grahame Lesh splitting vocals.

Lesh’s West Coast Rambles will resume this Thursday. Please click here for a look at this weekend’s other performances.
