Burning Spear, Tinariwen and the The Motet will perform at
Higher Vision. next month. Billed as a one-day grassroots “Community Activation and Awareness Gathering,” the event will take place at California’s Sonoma County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 9. The Motet’s set will feature their Funk is Dead Grateful Dead tribute.

Other acts slated to appear include: GAUDI, Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali, the Jug Dealers and Ali Weiss. In addition, Higher Vision will present a range of speakers like Kevin Danaher, founder of Global Exchange and The Green Festival, and Foster and Kimberly Gamble, producers of the groundbreaking new documentary Thrive. There will also be sustainable and progressive vendors, gourmet and organic food and environmental awareness education events.
