On February 16, 2008, producer Scotty Hard was leaving a late night session at his Brooklyn studio when a stolen car broadsided the taxi he was traveling in. Hard was immediately paralyzed below the chest, sending him into complicated spinal reconstruction surgery and hospitalization. Over the years several musicians have come together to support Hard, who has made great progress but is still recovering and requires additional support.

On Sunday, June 9, several groups will perform at the Music Frees All Festival for Scotty Hard at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl. Anitbalas—who are gearing up for a new studio album and extended promotional tour—will headline the event. Other confirmed acts include: Bajah & The Dry Eye Crew, Prince Paul, Superhuman Happiness, Bright Moments,Billy Martin’s Fang Percussion and DJ Monk-One, among others. Additional guests are also expected. All proceeds will benefit the Scotty Hard Trust.
