Phil Lesh’s Pre-Tour Terrapin Crossroads Send-Off

Lesh with The Fall Risk in June

As previously reported, last night Phil Lesh played one final show at San Rafael, CA venue Terrapin Crossroads before heading on tour with Furthur. The free show took place in the club’s bar space. Lesh was joined by Jackie Greene and Ross James. The trio played through a number of Grateful Dead classics and other assorted covers. James sang lead on “Sitting On Top Of The World” and Johnny Cash’s “Chattanooga Sugarbabe” (Lesh has covered Cash with increased regularity at Terrapin Crossroads). In addition, Lesh led the trio through “Whiskey In A Jar” and “Friend Of The Devil” while Greene offered his own “One Bad Love.” The set came to a close with a Greene-led version of “Bertha.”

Lesh has performed at Terrapin Crossroads multiple times per week since officially opening the venue in March. In addition to his own Rambles and free bar shows, he also sat in with Furthur singer Jeff Pehrson’s band The Fall Risk on three songs on June 23, including “All Along The Watchtower” (which can be seen above). Furthur kicks off their summer tour at Pawtucket, RI’s McCoy Stadium on July 5.
