Bob Dylan will take his band out for an extensive North American tour this fall. Singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer Mark Knopfler, of Dire Straits, will open for Dylan and his band throughout the run.

The tour will commence after the release of Dylan’s 35th studio album, Tempest, which he announced yesterday. Mark Knopfler will also release his 7th solo album entitled Privateering on September 3. The tour, which starts October 5th in Winnipeg, MB, follows a string of August/September dates Dylan has already laid out.

Knopfler and Dylan toured Europe together in 2011 and even joined each other on stage before. Check out this video of “Things Have Changed” from that run
