Bob Dylan Sets 2012 Fall Dates with Mark Knopfler

Bob Dylan will take his band out for an extensive North American tour this fall. Singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer Mark Knopfler, of Dire Straits, will open for Dylan and his band throughout the run.

The tour will commence after the release of Dylan’s 35th studio album, Tempest, which he announced yesterday. Mark Knopfler will also release his 7th solo album entitled Privateering on September 3. The tour, which starts October 5th in Winnipeg, MB, follows a string of August/September dates Dylan has already laid out.

Knopfler and Dylan toured Europe together in 2011 and even joined each other on stage before. Check out this video of “Things Have Changed” from that run

While I adore Bobby D…I’m a bit surprised that Team Dylan has chosen such large venues for this tour…I would have pegged his popularity based on his live voice at theaters….but I wish him luck selling tickets.

Traveled from Boston to Scotland this past October to see Knopfler/Dylan in concert there. It was worth every mile … so loved the concert. ALSO fell in love with the people of Scotland. Some of the very friendliest persons in the world!
