Charlie Hunter and Scott Amendola Team Up on New Album

Charlie Hunter will team up with drummer Scott Amendola on a new album, titled Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead, due out on October 2. Following last years’ Public Domain, which featured selections written during the first half of the 1900s, this album will include the guitarist’s first recording of original material in three years.

“Our intention in making this record was to tell a bunch of stories around the central theme of the album’s title,” says Hunter. “The new tunes are meant to evoke some of the things you might see in your travels through the USA these days. Scott and I wanted to think of each composition as a starting point for some kind of narrative.”

The album was recorded live to two-track analog 1/4-inch tape by noted sound engineer Dave McNair with no headphones, mixing, editing, or overdubs. See below for the full tracklisting.

We haven’t heard much about our friend Ann Barnhardt here lealty. Despite sharing her thoughts on her blog, Ann seems to subscribe to OPSEC. She gets it, like most of us here do.“I am NOT ON FACEBOOK.That is someone impersonating me. You just “friended” heaven-only-knows-who. CREEPY. Why are you even doing that Facebook crap? It cracks me up that people email me all of these stories about government surveillance and then are on Facebook all day every day, posting verbal and visual records of their entire lives. Uh, hello? Facebook is a giant self-service surveillance net.”- – – – – -Go Ann, go!
