My Morning Jacket and Band of Horses Celebrate The Clash

My Morning Jacketed headlined Columbia, MD’s Merriweather Post Pavilion on Saturday night. Band of Horses opened the show and, like many of the beard rockers’ recent shows together, Band of Horses leader Ben Bridwell joined MMJ frontman Jim James onstage during the show’s encore of “Wonderful (The Way I Feel).” Then, a few songs later, all of Band of Horses returned to the stage to help My Morning Jacket through their new cover of The Clash’s “Rock the Casbah.” Part of MMJ’s fan-selected Spontaneous Curation Series, the group’s setlist included a number of unique song selections, including an extended “Cobra” that moved into a bit of “Run Thru” and then the end of “Cobra.” My Morning Jacket will perform in Brooklyn, NY this evening.

Wow… Two of my favorite current bands teaming up to play one of my old faves… Why aren’t they touring like this on the west coast?
