My Morning Jacket headlined Brooklyn, NY’s Williamsburg Park last night. It was the first time My Morning Jacket had played Brooklyn, NY since they appeared at the tiny club North Six on May 31, 2002.

Part of My Morning Jacket’s fan-selected Spontaneous Curation Series, last night’s show featured a number of rare songs. During their encore, My Morning Jacket dusted off their cover of Prince’s “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” for the first time in almost two years. The band also brought out Luna’s Dean Wareham for their new cover of George Harrison’s “Isn’t It A Pity” (the Luna frontman joined MMJ onstage at Forecastle in July as well). Like several shows this summer, MMJ leader Jim James also opened the band’s encore with the early acoustic number “I Will Be There When You Die.” My Morning Jacket will perform at Pittsburgh, PA’s Stage AE tomorrow.
