Last night, Dispatch celebrated the release of their first studio album in 12 years, Circles Around the Sun, with a free show in New York’s Washington Square Park at 6 PM. The trio announced the short performance a few hours before their set on their Facebook page.

Each dressed as the Statue of Liberty, the three members of the band played acoustic while standing on park benches without any amplification. Dispatch opened their set with three songs off their new album—“Circles Around the Sun,” “Get Ready Boy” and “Not Messin’”—before offering their signature number “The General” and the early bongo workout “Elias.” For the latter two songs, guitarist Pete Francis held his baby son while he sang. Then, the band encore with “Flying Horses,” with Brad Corrigan playing a harmonica he grabbed from a fan in the crowd.
