Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe to Bring Their Beastie Boys Show to New York and Boston

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will bring their Beastie Boys tribute show to the East Coast for the first time this fall. The group will play the music of the Beastie Boys and more at Boston’s Royale on November 30 and New York’s Best Buy Theater on December 1. Fanclub presale will be this Wednesday through www.karldenson.com. Denson considered covering the Beastie Boys last Halloween but opted to play the music from The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers instead. He’s played a few Beastie Boys tribute shows since then with increased reverence after MCA’s death.

For their Halloween show this year, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will perform a Disco Halloween show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre on October 31. The evening will also include special guests The Funkytown Orchestra and opener Z Trip.

MCA hasn’t even been dead for a year and Denson is already trying to profit from his music. It’s a real shame these shows aren’t being performed as benefits to raise money for charities that Adam and the Beastie Boys supported. That would have been the noble thing to do.
