Missing Cats at Relix Friday

Several guests joined Missing Cats at New York’s Irving Plaza on Friday night. As previously reported, Missing Cats—featuring Widespread Panic’s Jo Jo Hermann and guitarist Sherman Ewing—are currently on the road with North Mississippi Allstars. Since New York is a hometown show for the New York-bred musicians, several guests joined them onstage on Friday night. After opening the show as a duo, Hermann and Ewing brought out guitarist Anthony Krizan, drummer John Hummel and bassist Kevin Hummel for “Loving Cup,” “The Mission” and “Single Room Saloon.” All three musicians are members of Phish lyricist Tom Marshall’s group, Amfibian (Trey Anastasio attended Friday’s show but did not perform with the group). Krizan is also known as a former member of Spin Doctors while Hummel has recorded with Lady Gaga.

After the segment, Krizan—who has been on the road with Missing Cats—switched to bass and North Mississippi Allstars’ Luther and Cody Dickinson joined in for the end of Missing Cats’ set. Missing Cats will perform at Indianapolis, IN’s The Vogue Theatre this Thursday.
