On Monday night, Jim James played an awareness show for President Obama at Keene, N.H.’s Colonial Theater. The event was free and open to the public as part of the Obama Campaign’s “For All” initiative. The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn opened the show, and MMJ guitarist Carl Broemel played a range of instruments with James during his set. James and Broemel focused mostly on MMJ songs but they did offer “The Right Place”—from James’ Monsters of Folk super group—and “Changing World“—from his New Multitudes Woody Guthrie tribute project—during their set. He also brought Finn out for “Golden” and State Senator Molly Kelly spoke during the evening.
