The Disco Biscuits headlined their first City Bisco event this past weekend. The two-day event took place at Philadelphia, PA’s prestigious Mann Center for the Performing Arts and featured a number of support acts. RJD2, Aeroplane, Cinnamon Chasers, The Manhattan Project and Wyllys were among the acts who appeared on Friday while A-Trak, Paper Diamond, Papadosio, Tipper, Ott & All Seeing I (live band), Tiger and Woods, Brothers Past, Nadis Warrior, Alpha Data and others performed on Saturday. With the exception of some 2010 promo underplays timed with the release of Planet Anthem, The Disco Biscuits had not performed a proper hometown show since 2009.

The group’s Friday sets fell on the 10th anniversary of the Disco Biscuits’ October 5, 2002 show at Spotsylvania, VA’s Haymaker Festival, one of their most revered performances. To mark the occasion, the band revisited one the Haymaker show’s best segues—the opening run from “Hot Air Balloon > Astronaut”—near the start of their first set. They also brought their second set to a climax with the Haymaker’s final number “Run Like Hell,” before returning to “Hot Air Balloon.”

The Disco Biscuits are off the road until their Mayan Holidaze event on December 17.
