Bob Weir Sits in with The Big Mix

Wednesday turned out to be a busy day for Bob Weir. After hosting his Weir Here webcast and Q & A from his TRI studios, the guitarist moved over to Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater where The Big Mix were slated to perform. The Big Mix is actually something of a super group featuring Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, beat poet Michael McClure, jazz/Indian fusion saxophonist/Composer George Brooks (Etta James, Summit, Bombay Jazz), John McGlaughlin/Garaj Mahal bassist Kai Eckhardt and Primus/RatDog drummer Jay Lane (McClure is best known as the author of Janis Joplin’s “Mercedes Benz”).

Weir emerged during the group’s set and performed on a few of McClure’s improvisational poetry moments. He will host his next Weir Here webcast from TRI on Wednesday.
