Deer Tick kicked off their three-week Wednesday night residency at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl last night. During their final late-night set tied to Newport, RI’s Newport Folk in July, the group covered their debut album War Elephant in its entirety. Last night, the band continued the albums-theme and kicked off their show by performing their second album Born On Flag Day in its entirety. Then, the band performed that album’s follow-up EP More Fuel For the Fire from front-to-back. During the Born On Flag Day song “Friday XIII” the band pulled a fan out of the audience to sing Liz Isenberg’s studio parts. The night closed with an extended encore featuring “Standing at the Threshold,” “Art Isn’t Real (City of Sin),” “These Old Shoes,” “Spend the Night,” “What Kind of Fool Am I?” and “Ashamed.”

Deer Tick’s Bowl residency continues on Wednesday. They will continue to work throughout their catalog by performing The Black Dirt Sessions and Holy Shit It’s Christmas EP.
