Branford Marsalis Joins Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band welcomed saxophonist Branford Marsalis to the stage last night at Raleigh, NC’s PNC Arena. Marsalis—who lives in the area—emerged for “What Would You Say” and “#41” near the end of the group’s set.

Matthews and Marsalis first collaborated at Warren Haynes’ Christmas Jam in 2006. Then, in 2010 Marsalis sat in with Dave Matthews Band during one of their North Carolina visits. Dave Matthews Band will kick off a two-night hometown run at Charlottesville, VA’s John Paul Jones Arena tomorrow.

I’ll bet it was wonderful. Coffin’s play is boring. Even the Flecktones are better without him.
DMB has never had a bad album, but I think Away From The World was the least appealing. I miss LeRoi’s creative approach.

Branford killed it. Love that dude. Tim Reynolds killed it also.
