Bob Weir to Tour with Jonathan Wilson

Bob Weir and Jonathan Wilson will tour together this winter. Sticking to the format of Weir’s recent shows with Jackie Greene, each musician will offer a set of their own and collaborate on a joint third set. As of press time, the musicians’ joint dates include stops in Santa Fe, Tucson and Las Vegas. Weir’s set will be solo acoustic.

Weir and Wilson first collaborated during a Jerry Garcia tribute at TRI Studios in August. Since that show, Wilson has performed with Weir several times. The LA-based indie/roots guitarist has joined Weir’s solo shows, sat in with Furthur and collaborated with Phil Lesh. During a recent interview with Relix and Jambands.com, Wilson revealed that he hopes to work with Weir in the studio as well.

Here’s a look at their upcoming shows

February 26 Santa Fe, NM—Lensic Performing Arts Center ·
February 27 Tucson, AZ—Fox Theatre
March 1—Las Vegas, NV—The Pearl at Palms Casino ·

I wouldn’t exactly call that a tour.

Jonathan Wilson is the son of Willie.

My bad. No relationship to Willie Nelson, I was confusing him with Jakob Nelson, who is Willie’s son.

>bands Support good musicians of all ages. It is bad form to diss a person based on his age just as it is based on his race or religion.

Tour? Ugh. Any headline to warrant a “click” in the link.
