Umphrey’s McGee headlined St. Louis, MO’s The Pageant on Saturday night. Mike Dillon Band opened the show and, near the end of Umphrey’s McGee’s set, Dillon joined the evening’s headliner onstage. Dillon added vibraphone to a take on Herbie Mann’s “Muscle Shoals Nitty Gritty” that included teases of Blue Öyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.”
Later in the evening, Umphrey’s McGee took a bit of the Disco Biscuits’ playbook and completed a version of “Puppet String” they started a night earlier. Umphrey’s McGee will perform at Morgantown, WV’s Metropolitan Theatre on Thursday.
