McLovins drummer and vocalist Jake Huffman co-wrote a song for a recent episode of Sesame Street. The tune “Counting the You’s in YouTube” was performed by, well, The Count. The song was written to thank Sesame Street fans for viewing their videos a staggering 1 billion times on YouTube. In a previous interview with Jambands.com, Huffman said: “I co-wrote a song with Emmy, Tony, and Grammy-award winning Bill Sherman, the musical director of Sesame Street…I spent the holidays in Alabama with my girlfriend, Kara Kirkland, and her family. After hearing me play a few of my songs on piano, her brother-in-law Bill approached me. Not only did we decide he would produce my side project album, but to my surprise he asked me, ‘Jake, why don’t you write a song with me for Sesame Street?’ Obviously after growing up watching Sesame Street I felt honored and enthusiastically accepted.”

The video—which you can watch above—was posted on YouTube just three days ago and has already been viewed over 170,000 times.
