Recent Relix On the Verge act Shovels & Rope will open for Dawes this spring and summer. The Charleston, SC group released the album O’ Be Joyful and scored some buzz on the club circuit this fall. They will support Dawes on most of their summer tour, which stretches from a June 4 stop at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s to a July 24 appearance at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theater. Shovels & Rope will also open for Dave Matthews Band at Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach Theater on June 25 and 26.

The duo will open for Lucero at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club this evening. Though they are not currently slated to open for Dawes at the 9:30 Club this June, they may very well be added to the bill after tonight’s performance.
