The London Souls opened for Ivan Neville’s band Dumpstaphunk at Philadelphia, PA’s The Blockley last night. During Dumpstaphunk’s headlining set, London Souls’ guitarist Tash Neal returned to the stage for The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You.”

In related news, on Friday night Dumpstaphunk headlined Madison House’s official SXSW showcase. The show took place at Holy Mountain as part of a bill that also included JJ Grey & Mofro, The Revivalists, The Soul Rebels and several other acts. Though the evening’s final segment was billed as The Madison House All-Stars, Dumpstaphunk played an extended set and brought out the Austin-based Grooveline Horns for a series of funk covers and originals. The performance drew a capacity crowd and, at one point, local fire marshals threatened to shut down the show.

Dumpstaphunk will perform in Rutland, VT as part of moe.‘s Snoe.down festival today.
