Peter Frampton sat in with The Black Crowes last night during the first show of their two-night run at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The legendary guitarist joined the band toward the end of the set for a rendition of Traffic’s “Medicated Goo,” followed by “Thorn In My Pride” and “Appaloosa.” Frampton then stuck around for one more tune, which happened to be the Crowes’ debut cover of Humble Pie’s first single “Natural Born Bugie.” The song was recorded in 1969, when Frampton was with the band. The Black Crowes then encored with back to back covers of The Rolling Stones’ “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Happy.”

Last night’s show was billed as a normal concert while tonight’s acoustic performance has been billed as “The Black Crowes with Special Guests.”
